New coach joins SUNY Brockport staff
Mark Krueger joins the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagle coaching staff this fall as the new head coach of the men's and women's cross country, and indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He replaces Brian Gawne, who was coach for the past two seasons.
Krueger is a 1999 graduate of SUNY Brockport where he earned a degree and teacher certification in physical education and exercise physiology. As an undergraduate at Brockport, Krueger played two seasons of football, ran two years of cross country and four years of track. He earned All-SUNYAC honors in the 400-meter hurdles in 1998 after finishing fourth at the SUNYAC Championships.
Prior to his return to his alma mater, Krueger coached three seasons of cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field at Brockport High School. His three-year stint at the scholastic level was highlighted by his girls' team placing first in the Monroe County Championships in 2001.
