Hilton East honors fire department
Hilton East Assisted Living continued a tradition they began over twenty-five years ago in honoring the local fire department and ambulance volunteers with a dinner in their honor. On Sunday, September 8, over 200 people attended an open air ceremony to show their appreciation, as Elizabeth Mowery gave a speech detailing her experience while working with the Salvation Army following the September 11 terrorist attack in New York City. Assemblyman Joe Robach and Senator George Maziarz presented a plaque to Fire Chief Mike Lissow in appreciation for the contribution these local volunteers have made to the community. The presentation ended with Josie Waverly singing "God Bless America."
