Leading attorneys offer environmental law course
The 23rd Annual Survey Course in Environmental Law will be sponsored by the Center for Environmental Information on Wednesday evenings, October 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 7:15-9:45 p.m. at Nazareth College. Twelve attorneys from area law firms, companies and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation will make presentations.
The course, which has been recognized by the Environmental Law Section of the New York State Bar Association for 'outstanding environmental legal education,' is designed for municipal officials, business owners and managers, architects, realtors, contractors, environmental compliance managers, attorneys, paralegals, government agency employees, students and interested citizens.
Topics will cover recent developments in environmental law at the local state and federal levels; major problem areas; latest trends, and possible future directions. Topics include DEC enforcement and regulatory permits, State Environmental Quality Review act, Clean Water Act, wetland regulation, Clean Air Act, oil spills storage and reporting, toxic torts, solid waste regulation, hazardous waste regulation, federal and state Superfund law, and brownfield redevelopment.
