RSD receives grants for science lab
Rochester School for the Deaf has received grants for capital renovation from the Gleason Foundation and the Golisano Foundation to build a new high school science lab at the RSD campus at 1545 St. Paul Street in Rochester.
The Gleason Foundation provided a challenge grant to the school, which was met by the Trustees of the B. Thomas Golisano Foundation.
"We are so grateful to the Gleason Foundation for taking the leadership role and the Golisano Foundation for meeting and surpassing the challenge to allow us to be able to provide our young scientists with an environment that is both safe and exciting," said Dr. Harold Mowl, superintendent. "RSD's new high school science lab will enable students to explore science in an environment that accommodates their communication requirements, while inspiring them to dream," added Mowl. Anticipated completion of the new science lab is the third week in September.
The Rochester School for the Deaf has been providing educational opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing children within a 22-county region for more than 125 years.
