Rangers netters rip Irondequoit
Spencerport improved to 2-0 on the young season in sweeping the Irondequoit Eagles 3-0 September 5 at home.
The Rangers romped 25-6 in the first game highlighted by a 17-3 run with Jason Chandler serving most of the points. Spencerport was only up by five points in the second game before finishing with a 13-5 rally to win 25-13.
Irondequoit fought back in the third game leading at one point 18-13 before Ranger head coach Michael Zeman sent his starters back in. It was 12-4 Spencerport from that point on giving them a 25-22 win and the match.
Jake Butler finished with 28 assists in the match. Dan Roth led with 12 kills and added 5 blocks and Brandon Waas added 9 kills. The Rangers are expected to contend with Fairport, Brockport and Churchville-Chili for the title this season.
