Allied Frozen receives $180,000 from NYSERDA
Allied Frozen Storage, Inc. (AFS) received $180,000 from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for the energy efficient equipment installed in Brockport Industrial Center. Allied was awarded the funds by the NYSERDA New Construction Energy Equipment Incentive Program for complying with the program's requirements for energy saving equipment.
The equipment installed, which is a step above what is considered customary for a facility of this type, includes the following: high speed freezer doors, variable speed drive on the evaporative condenser, state-of-the-art computer control system with automatic load shedding, evaporator penthouses, liquid recirculator, and automatic condensable gas purger. Jim Mills, director of Corporate Engineering and Safety for AFS, was instrumental in spearheading this project.
Allied Frozen Storage, Inc., a division of The Allied Group, completed the Brockport Industrial Center expansion project in September 2001. The renovations were completed by Allied Builders, Inc., also a division of The Allied Group.
