Holley School District to host drug awareness program
Holley Central School District's Drug and Alcohol Task Force is hosting a drug awareness program on Monday, September 30 at the Holley High School auditorium, Lynch Road, Holley, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The program is open to any adult in the community who is interested in learning more about how drugs are affecting youth as young as five years old, what can be done about youth drug use, and how it can be prevented.
Presenting are Gary Metz and David A. Monk from SUNY Brockport. Metz, coordinator of alcohol/substance abuse studies and an associate professor of health science at Brockport, is a nationally recognized expert on prevention of substance abuse. Monk, an adjunct professor in health science and public administration, and associate director of law enforcement education programs for Monroe Community College Public Safety Training Center, is also nationally recognized as an expert in the supply and demand strategies of substance abuse education.
This program is only open to adults. Free child care will be provided for children ages 4-12 in the Holley High School gymnasium. Adults who attend the program will be eligible for raffles (including three bicycles) held at the end of the evening.
