Common sense parenting course offered through BOCES
Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association), through a grant funded by RG&E, is offering a free six-week Common Sense Parenting course for parents whose children have behavior management needs. Parents will learn practical skills to encourage positive behavior, discourage negative behavior and alternatives to problem behaviors for 6- to 16-year olds.
Four sessions are available beginning October 30, January 8 (training for parents of children ages 3-5), March 5 and April 30. Classes are held on six consecutive Wednesdays. Attendance at all classes is required. Childcare is available for children 12 and under. The course is held at the BOCES 2 Educational Service Center, 3599 Big Ridge Road, Spencerport in Conference Room 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The course is free but space is limited.
