Patriotic display on exhibit during October
"Our Flag is Still There," an exhibit of more than 80 photographs taken by St. Lawrence School students after the destruction of the Twin Towers in New York City on 9/11/2001 will be on display at the Parma Town Hall, 1300 Hilton-Parma Road, throughout October.
Commemorating Humanities Month, observed statewide every October, the exhibit has been made available by the Greece school in conjunction with the New York Council For the Humanities, the Parma Meetinghouse Museum and the Parma Town Historian's office.
Students in Robert Graham's history classes took over 1,200 photographs of the American Flag displayed in countless manners, from which more than 80 of the best were selected for the final exhibit.
The Xerox Corporation later prepared a souvenir publication showing all the snapshots in a book given to the students and exhibit sponsors.
Initially, the exhibit hung in Rochester's City Hall, then in the Parma Meetinghouse Museum before moving to the Town Hall in commemoration of Humanities month.
The photographs may be viewed in the large meeting room whenever the town hall is open to the public.
