ALBION
Carlson, Walter R., Age 85, died October 13, 2002 at his home. Mr. Carlson worked as a warehouse manager at Kodak before retiring in 1982 and was a decorated World War II Army Veteran. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine of 61 years in July. He is survived by his daughter Debra (Edward) Westphal of Kendall; four grandchildren, James Westphal of Albion, Michele Westphal of Syracuse, Eric and Heather Westphal, both of Kendall; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services were held October 18 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Interment in Mt. Albion Cemetery with Legion honors. Memorials can be made to the Gaines-Carlton Church or The American Diabetes Association in his memory.
BERGEN
Covert, Lisa G., October 10, 2002 at age 42. Daughter of Donald (Virginia) Tiede; wife of Mark Covert; mother of Marisa and Emily Covert; sister of Steve (Bernadette) Tiede, Marcia Tiede, Karen (John) McEachern and Ellyn (Theodore) Cornell and the late Laurie Tiede Pond; granddaughter of Hazel Tiede; also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service was held October 14 at Bergen First Presbyterian Church, Bergen. Memorials can be made to Lisa Covert Fund for Elementary Students at Byron-Bergen Elementary School.
BROCKPORT
Ruggles, Raymond M. Jr., On Monday, October 14, 2002, age 44. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; step-son, Don; sister, Debbie (Don) Whipple; brothers, Robert and Donald (Carla) Ruggles and Jamie Beadle; several nieces, nephews; god-parents, Art and Edith Weber.
Funeral Services were held October 18 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Friends wishing can make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Swartout, Jesse Tomys Sherwin, Age 21 of Ridgefield, Connecticut, died Friday, October 11 near Saratoga Springs, NY where he was a senior a Skidmore College. He was the grandson of Dr. Sherwin Swartout (deceased) and Eileen Swartout of Brockport. He lived in Hempstead, NY; Arlington Heights, Illinois; and since 1989 in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He was a gifted artist, athlete and writer. He was an outstanding soccer, basketball and baseball player. He graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1999, a high honors student.
He is survived by his parents, Torin and Anne Swartout of Ridgefield; his brothers, Jason and Joseph; sister, Katherine. Also his grandmother, Eileen Swartout of Brockport; uncle, Kevin Swartout of Brockport; grandparents, Joseph and Wynelle Washington of London, Ontario; great-grandmother, Mattie Washington of Punta Gorda, Florida; several great aunts and uncles; as well as other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services were held October 16 at First Congregational Church in Ridgefield. Contributions can be made to the Anasazi Foundation, 1424 South Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85204 in his memory.
VanSkiver, Frances E., October 12, 2002. Pre-deceased by her sister, Marilyn Streicher. She is survived by her husband, Thomas VanSkiver Sr.; children, Nancy (Stephen) Semple, Timothy (Sharon) Hazzard, Christopher Hazzard, David (Nancy) Hazzard, Thomas Jr. (Kandy) VanSkiver, Vance (Tracy) VanSkiver; 16 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral Services were held October 16 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Interment Creekside Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, 14609 in her memory.
CLARENDON
Bonter, Neil A., On October 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Jill, David, and Jamie; brother, Bill (Nancy) of Spencerport; sister, Linda (Terry) Devlin of Arizona. Neil was an Elementary School Teacher for 31 years at Churchville-Chili Schools.

HAMLIN
Lenz, Gladys S., on Sunday, October 13, 2002. Predeceased by her husbands, Alfred and Erwin and son, Hubert. She is survived by her daughter, Deloris Bale; seven grand-children; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin Sielaff and four nephews.
Funeral Services were held October 17 at Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment Garland Cemetery. Donations can be made to the United Methodist Church of Hamlin in her memory.
HILTON
Barrett, Jean Ann, on Saturday, October 12, 2002, age 65. Survived by her devoted husband, Richard; children, Cheryl (Gregg) Pacelli, Cathy Ann (Tod Downey) Barrett, Charlene (Jim) Vent; brothers, David (Carol) Lang, Carl Lang; grandchildren, Clayton, Nathan, Owen, Kyle, Paul; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to GHRC Hospice, 70 Metro Park, 14623 in her memory.
HOLLEY
Knittle, Daniel G., age 69, formerly of Holley, died October 12, 2002 at Loretta Heights Nursing Home in Fulton, NY following a long illness. Mr. Knittle had lived in the Holley area for 40 years before transferring to the Owens Illinois Factory in Fulton, NY where he worked as an operating engineer until his retirement. He was also an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Knittle was a member of the Fulton VFW and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Patricia Brewer of Fulton; two sons, Daniel (Debbie) Knittle of Brockport, and Ralph (Pamela) Knittle of Holley; three daughters, Sue Ann (Roger) Sergent of Florida, Beverly (John) Weader of Holley and Patricia Knittle of Holley; two sisters, Fern Barnett of Holley and Rose (Joe) Snook of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and special mother-in-law, Florence Colucci. Mr. Knittle was predeceased by two brothers.
A Memorial Service was held October 19 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors.
MURRAY
D'Angiolillo, Carmine A., October 10, 2002 at the age of 69. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly of 35 years; daughters, Karen (Edward) Snerewicz, Cynthia (Arlen) Kaasa, Sandra (William) Amedick; son, Michael (Debbie Harris) Clemons; mother-in-law, Arlene Brokaw; daughter-in-law, Peggy Lyman; granddaughters, Patricia Hudson, Amanda Clemons, Savannah Amedick, Danielle Snerewicz; grandsons, Michael, Nicholas and Brian Clemons, Jason, Tyrell Kaasa, Alex Snerewicz, Jason Amedick; great-granddaughter, Alexis Renee Clemons; brother, Frank (Joyce) of Florida; sisters, Connie (Robert) Howell of Florida, Betty (Larry) Sheffield of Brockport; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law. Carmine was a member of the Brockport Volunteer Fire Department and the Holley VFW. Veteran of the Korean War in the U. S. Air Force.
