Hamlin Youth Group paddles from Holley to Brockport

The Hamlin Youth Group paddled in canoes and kayaks on the Erie Canal Saturday, October 5. With the wind in their favor they started at the public boat launch on County Line Road in Holley and proceeded to the Main Street Lift Bridge in Brockport. Pictures in their canoe is Brittany Lucas, Meagan Keenan and Kayla Norman with the help of Barry MacNaughton from Padillac Boats. Scott Batty (not shown) participated on a kayak. The Hamlin Youth group plans many other activities such as Horizon F/X trips, Amerks' games and ski/tubing trips. They meet once a month to plan these activities along with monthly community services projects and fundraisers. Any youth ages 12-18 who are interested in joining can call the Hamlin Recreation office at 964-7222 for information. Brockport seventh graders who need community service hours are welcome to join.
