New conductor debuts at
Brockport Symphony Fall Concert
The Brockport Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Conductor Ryan Brown, returns with its Fall Concert Sunday, November 10 at 7 p.m., at the Methodist Church on the corners of Erie and Main Streets in Brockport. General admission is $5, seniors and students $4 and children under 12 enter free of charge.
The program includes the Overture to "Don Giovanni" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the selections from Slavonic Dances by Antonin Dvorak, Entrance of the Queen Sheeba by the George Fredrick Handel, which includes a dynamic oboe duet by Symphony veterans Alan Werner and Erin Denney, and "Symphony No. 104," by Franz Joseph Haydn.
The Fall Concert marks Brown's conducting debut with the Brockport Symphony. Brown, a graduate of the Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, and the Eastman School of Music, also currently serves as the Director of Houghton College's Chapel Choir and Women's Choir, Music Director of the Cathedral Choir School of Rochester's Performance Choir and Training Choir, and Director of the Christ View United Methodist Church's Children's Choir and Handbell Choir. Brown has also conducted for the All American Boys Chorus, the Eastman Repertory Singers and the LMU Chamber Orchestra.
