Hilton High School graphic arts students receive National Gutenberg Awards
Hilton High School graphic arts students of teachers Tait Loe and Ron Hindmarch were presented with National Gutenberg Awards November 7 at the Rochester Institute of Technology by members of the Printers and Imaging Association of New York. The awards are sponsored annually by the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen, Inc. and the International Graphic Arts Teachers Association which judges entries in August. This year over 500 entries were received from the U.S. and Canada. Twenty awards were presented to these students. Matt Pitti won the prestigious "Best of Show Award" for his "Adidas" Process Color Offset. On hand for the presentations were: back, from left, Dan Horowitz, Aaron Schue, Dan Moore; middle row from left, Steve Mitchell, Eric Steiner, Bianca D'Angelo; front row from left, teacher Tait Loe, Mike Maslyn, Kevin Burritt, Dinh La, Kevin Butlin and teacher Ron Hindmarch. Also winning awards were: Robin Moore, Webster Luce, Evan Dulnik, Chris Mason, Jim Putam, and Kurt Vanwuyckhuyse. Students are enrolled in Technology courses at the high school and must present their work in a portfolio format for the award.
