BISCO donates $37,093 to benefit community
The Brockport Integrated Service & Community Organizations (BISCO) donated a total of $37,093 to various community projects during their fiscal year October 2001 through September 2002. The largest grants were given in support of the Kool Kids Program and the Skate Board Park which received $12,243 and $20,000, respectively.
Many community organizations give to Kool Kids through BISCO which serves as the umbrella organization for this popular program that benefits area children. A grant of $20,000 was given toward the Skate Board Park that is in the process of being developed as a recreation site for young people. Smaller grants that range in the amount of $350 to $2,000 were given to other worthy organizations, including but not limited to, the Town of Sweden Toy Shelf, the Brockport Fire Department and the Brockport Symphony. Community support of BISCO fund raisers made these grants possible. Most of the dollars raised were received through the Brockport Summer Arts Festival and Duck Derby. Next year's event is planned for August 9-10, 2003.
