Free mugs honor America
When Parma Meetinghouse holds its annual holiday open house on December 1 from 1 to 4 p.m., new exhibits and free gifts will be featured.
In celebration of Shirley Cox Husted's 35th anniversary year as Parma Town Historian, she will present a free 4 1/2-inch "God Bless America" mug to book customers. Free desserts and beverages and free patriotic lapel pins will also be available.
New exhibits include religious treasures, winter furs, a new doll exhibit and the 100th anniversary of the Teddy Bear. Letters to Santa may be mailed in the old Parma Center post office.
Dr. Samuel Beach Bradley's 1829 doctor's office is under restoration outside. He was a 19th century assemblyman and country doctor at Hoosick on Manitou Road.
Dr. Scott Caton's American History students from Roberts Wesleyan College and several adults have assisted Donald Cox with the project this year.
The museum is located at 460 Parma Center Road, Hilton.
