Local musicians perform at Lakeside Gala Dinner
Musicians and vocalists performing at Lakeside's Annual Gala Dinner featuring Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright all reside within the local community. This year's event will begin with a Press Conference and Reception at Lakeside, followed by the black tie formal dinner at the Crowne Plaza Rochester on Friday, December 6.
The Amadeus Chorale of Greater Rochester and Hilltop Singers, the children's choir from the Brockport School District, will welcome Secretary Albright when she arrives at Lakeside by singing the national anthem a capella. The singers have performed for speakers in the past including Generals Colin Powell and Norman Schwarzkopf, and sang God Save the Queen for the Right Honorable John Major, former Prime Minister of Great Britain.
Harpist Cathleen A. Gurnett will perform during the VIP Reception at the Crowne Plaza. Gurnett has been playing harp since high school. She is a private harp instructor who also teaches singing at the fourth and fifth grade levels in the Brockport Central School District and resides in Brockport. In addition to teaching, Gurnett has been playing with local community orchestras, and she plays for weddings, parties and dinner clubs.
Bob Ryan, owner of Ryan's Big M in Brockport and a Kendall resident, will perform at the Crowne Plaza. Ryan will be singing God Bless America during the opening remarks at the Annual Gala Dinner. He has been singing with the St. Mark's choir in Kendall and St. Mary's choir in Holley for the past four years.
