Hilton Cheerleaders are Sectional Champions

The Hilton Varsity Fall Football Cheerleaders have an outstanding season both individually and as a team. The season started off with six seniors making the Eddie Meath All Star Team. They are Jessie Bell who placed 15th, Nicole Dalton who placed 9th, Randi Roethel who placed 7th, Tammy Gardner who placed 3rd, Shannon Nichols who placed 2nd and Jamie Delgatti who placed 1st. The following week at the Bishop Kearney Senior/Junior Fall Individual Tournament of Champions, seniors again had a great showing with Randi Roethel placing 6th, Nicole Dalton placing 4th, Tammy Gardner placing 3rd and Jamie Delgatti placing 2nd.

The next week, the seniors performed their individual routines at the Victor Tournament. Nicole Dalton placed 5th, Jamie Delgatti placed 2nd and Tammy Gardner placed 1st. The routines that the girls did were a combination of a cheer and dance that lasted about one-and-a-half minutes. The girls had requirements, such as a certain number of jumps in each competition and many incorporated tumbling to increase level of difficulty.

The team, as a whole, won the Class AA Section V Championship held at The Blue Cross Arena on October 24. The team scored 186 out of a possible 190 in a very tough division.

Team members are Jessie Bell, Stephanie Benway, Diana Bermudez, Alex Cortese, Tara Curran, Nicole Dalton, Jamie Delgatti, Karlie Donlon, Katie Donlon, Amanda Farrand, Christine Farrand, Melanie Friesen, Tammy Gardner, Katrina Gutmann, Nichole Klotzbach, Alicia Maier, Serena Melvin, Shannon Nichols, Emily O'Coin, Randi Roethel, Stephanie Rosenburgh and Sara Wagner. They are coached by Laurie Miller.
