Hilton Hockey Booster Club hosts scholarship fundraiser

The Hilton High School Hockey Booster Club will be sponsoring a fundraising event to benefit the 4th Annual Rob Coppaway Memorial Scholarship Fund. It will be held on Friday, December 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lakeshore Hockey Arena. Donations are requested of $2/person or $5/family and skate rental will be available. Raffles and a 50/50 drawing will also be held.

Rob Coppaway was a 1999 graduate of Hilton High School and a four-year varsity hockey player. He was killed in an automobile accident in December 1999. The Coppaway family is well known in the Rochester hockey community. Rob and his siblings have participated in various local hockey leagues. Hockey organizations (both high school and youth) from all over the Rochester area have made donations to create a memorial for Rob. An annual award of scholarship money will be given each year to a graduating senior player on the Hilton High School Hockey Team who exhibits the inspirational qualities and pure love of the game that Rob demonstrated.
