Destination Education
Churchville-Chili sixth-graders in Tim Miller's class recently went on a simulated space voyage aboard the Challenger Learning Center located at the Rochester Museum and Science Center. The Challenger Learning Center was created after the 1986 Challenger space shuttle tragedy by the families of the seven astronauts lost, to carry on their mission: to explore and teach. The center contains two space simulator rooms: a mission control and a spacecraft. Students work together to carry out a simulated space voyage in this unique hands on learning experience. Above, Brandon Crego builds and prepares a probe for deployment.
