Saints swept by Schroeder

The Churchville-Chili girl’s volleyball team was a bit out of sync in a 25-15, 25-17, 25-21 sweep to Webster Schroeder December 2 on their home court.

Tied on six separate occasions including 14-14 in game one, the Saints got a key block from Stacey Scott midway through the game, but won just one of the final twelve points. Webster never trailed in game two in the eight-point victory, but the Saints battled throughout the third game.

Heidi Mance, returning from a turned ankle on the first point of the match, had one kill and Rachel Smith had two consecutive kills to tie the game 20-20 before Webster again pulled away late to complete the sweep.

Mance led with six kills while Scott had five and Smith had six digs and three blocks to go with her five kills. Alyssa Williams came off the bench to contribute three blocks; Mary Beth Dillon led the team with 10 digs and Michelle Davis led with 14 assists in the loss, which dropped the Saints record to 2-1, 1-1.
