County plans firewood sale in January
The Monroe County Parks Department will sell approximately 50 face cords of firewood on Saturday, January 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. The sale will be held in front of the Monroe County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at 444 East Henrietta Road, across from Monroe Community Hospital.
The firewood will be sold for $40 per face cord, and will be available on a first come, first served basis until it sells out. All firewood purchases must be picked up on the day of the sale and be purchased with cash. Purchases are limited to three face cords per county resident.
As part of the regular maintenance program, the Parks Department collected the wood from fallen trees and tree limbs that pose safety hazards throughout the park system, according to the parks department. For information call 256-4950.
