Brockport's football season memorable
Brockport High School's football season is said to be one of the varsity's most memorable seasons in its history. With victories against formidable opponents such as Greece Athena, Irondequoit, Rush Henrietta, Churchville-Chili, Spencerport, Greece Olympia and Hilton showed the hours of training, dedication, commitment and triple sessions paid off. The Blue Devils ended the season 6-3 and made sectionals for the first time in 17 years and set several school records. Winning their 6th game of the season against Greece Olympia had been achieved only twice in the last 24 years. The varsity team received statewide attention when they were listed as an honorable mention team in Class AA of the state sportswriters high school rankings, Team coaches were Greg Pellitier, head coach; Scott Hopsicker, Todd Hagreen, Scott Nugent and Mark Cyr, assistant coaches.
