Amateur poetry contest open to area residents

The Talent Literary Guild is sponsoring an amateur poetry contest, free to everyone. There are 50 prizes in all, including a $1,000 grand prize.

"We are delighted to sponsor this contest," says Thomas Greg, poetry director. "Poets deserve opportunities to exhibit their work and get recognition. We hope our contest will encourage new poets to share their work."

Poems may be written on any subject, using any style. The deadline for entering is January 22, 2003. The editors reserve the right to publish the winning poems. A winner's list will be sent to all entrants.
