Brockport Fire Department call volume up
In the past two weeks alone, the Brockport Fire and Ambulance Department have responded to more than 130 calls. "In the last two weeks we've had 70 fire jobs and 60 ambulance calls," Fire Chief Greg Wing said.
Year to date figures for the department came in at 1,050 for the fire department and 1,527 for the ambulance, he reported. "Right now we are 400 calls over last year's volumes." Wing urged drivers to be particularly cautious when negotiating the roads during the holiday season and to drive responsibly.
Village Treasurer Scott Rightmyer discussed at the December 16 meeting that the ambulance billing rates would likely see a five percent increase over the 2002 rates. Further discussion on the rate increase was tabled until the January meeting.
