Chili sewer project begins

Groundbreaking took place recently on Phase I of the Sanitary Sewer project to serve the Union Street area north of the West Shore rail line and south of King Road, an area of approximately 300 acres.

This area, zoned General Industrial and Limited Industrial, is a prime location for development, said Town of Chili Supervisor Steve Hendershott, as it is served by two rail lines and has close access to interstate I-490. The area has been slow to develop in accordance with its zoning because it has lacked the sanitary sewer infrastructure necessary to support development, according to a town press release.
