Endres paces Cadet win
Junior Tyler Endres scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds - seven on the offensive boards - to lead the Hilton Cadets to a 60-41 win over Brighton in boys basketball December 16.
The Cadets played stifling defense in the first half limiting the Barons to just 13 points. They got their own offense untracked after an eight point first quarter with 21 in the second quarter for a 29-13 half-time lead.
Brighton came back in the third quarter with a 13-4 run closing the Hilton lead to nine points, but Steve Gallatio hit two free throws at the end of the third quarter and the Cadets scored twelve of the next sixteen points to pull away.
"We played solid defense and rebounded well, but we still need to find a way to protect the ball better," said head coach Ory Mee.
Hilton was solid from the free throw line making 19 of 24 led by Endres 9-10. Gallatio scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds, while Kyle Heffron scored nine points and handed out 5 assists. Jason Schwan came off the bench to add eight points. The win broke a two-game losing streak for Hilton and raised their record to 4-3 this season.
