Olsheski, Arieno pace Blue Devils

Ashley Olsheski dished out 37 assists and Chris Arieno had 18 kills as Brockport defeated Penfield 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 25-10 in girl's volleyball December 21.

The Blue Devils led by just three in the first game before closing with a flurry winning ten of the final 16 points. After the Patriots took game two and had tied the third game at 13-13, Brockport went on a 6-0 run to win and never looked back in running away with the deciding fourth game.

Jamie Hugelmaier had a well-rounded game with 12 digs, two blocks and nine kills and Danielle LeBeau added 13 kills in the win.

"Chris Arieno didn't make a single error in the match - that's just unheard of especially as one of our main attackers on offense," said first year head coach Joe Jank.

Jackie Steubing had an ace and a block and Kim Eichas added a kill and two aces in the match. Olsheski had two aces in the fourth game.
