Knights of Columbus announce free-throw winners

The St. Leo's Knights of Columbus recently held their annual local competition for youth ages 10-14 to determine the premier basketball free-throw shooting champion. Several Hilton-area boys and girls gathered at the Hilton Village Community Center on Sunday, January 5, looking to advance beyond this local competition, with the eventual hope of competing against kids of their age at the state level. Participants were able to stand at the free-throw line and count the number of baskets made, and the following kids were announced as the winners.

Girls: Age 11 - Maggie Johnson, age 12 - Courtney Smith, age 13 - Amanda Peter.

Boys: Age 10 - Payton Beasley, age 11 - Adam Grushow, age 12 - Jason Philips, age 13 - Shane Galatio, age 14 - Jesse Philips.

Local winners, advance to the district level competition at St. Jude's Church on Lyell Road on February 8 at 9 a.m.
