Programs offered at Gillam-Grant Center
The Gillam-Grant Community Center in Bergen is offering the following physical fitness, recreational winter programs.
Exerfit and Tone - a low impact aerobic exercise program on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. For 10 weeks starting January 28.
A Basic Fitness/Conditioning - 10 week program on Tuesdays, 6 to 7 p.m.
Easy Does It Exercise - for men and women age 50 and older held on 8 Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. This program started January 8. Late registrations accepted.
Water Aerobics - will take place in the Gillam-Grant Memorial Pool starting Wednesday, February 19 from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. A limited number of lap swimmers may also register.
Wednesday Night Mens Basketball - is held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. A 12 week program starts January 22.
Ballroom Dancing - the waltz will be taught on Friday, March 7 at 1 p.m. and the fox trot on March 14 at 1 p.m.
Senior Citizen Bowling - is held at the Rose Garden Bowl in Bergen on Thursdays at 1 p.m.
Karate (Isshin Ryu) - Lessons will start Saturday, March 1 and run for 10 weeks. For ages 5 and older, teens and adults.
A 12 week Bone Power Exercise Program - For people who either have or who are at risk for osteoporosis - and a Tai Chi eight week exercise and stress reduction program for people with arthritis is being offered.
T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) - meets on Tuesdays at the Byron Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. Weigh-ins start at 6:30 p.m.
Swimming Lessons - are scheduled to start in the spring.
Pre-registration is required for all programs in person or by calling 494-1621. The Center is located at 6966 West Bergen Road, across from the High School.
