Orleans Youth Bureau's Reality Check Program
to administer mini-grants
The Genesee-Orleans County Youth Empowerment Against Tobacco Use "Reality Check" Program seeks qualified organizations to participate and develop programs and/or events that support the goals of the Youth Empowerment Program Against Tobacco Use through mini-grant awards.
The Genesee-Orleans County Youth Empowerment Program Against Tobacco Use intends to enter into the contract with qualified applicants who are knowledgeable and have experience working with youth. A total of approximately $10,000 is available to fund selected projects in Genesee and Orleans Counties. Youth-serving organizations and schools in Genesee and Orleans Counties that have completed the formal application process are eligible for this mini-grant.
The mini-grant opportunity will require organizations to break away from the traditional structures, roles and norms, and identify new ways to reach youth and empower the m with the leadership skills to enhance their communities and promote positive living among teenagers. The Genesee-Orleans Youth Empowerment Program Against Tobacco Use will move forward in partnership with organizations that will support the ideas of young people and for young people. The heart of this project is the commitment to have youth has the force and voice of the movement. By providing this mini-grant opportunity, it is hoped to increase the collaboration of the program with various youth-serving organizations and schools in the community and reach the goals of the Youth Empowerment Program.
