SUNY Brockport names
marketing communications director
Christine Florence has been named director of marketing communications at the State University of New York College at Brockport, according to Ray DiPasquale, SUNY Brockport vice president for enrollment management.
"We feel fortunate to have someone with Chris Florence's range of experiences to help develop and guide SUNY Brockport's ongoing marketing and public relations programs," said DiPasquale.
Florence, who began her duties at SUNY Brockport on January 6, was the marketing manager for Stantec Consulting Inc.'s Salt Lake City office. Stantec is an international engineering/architecture consulting firm, where Florence was responsible for developing and monitoring the company's marketing and public relations programs. She is past president and a founding member of the Society of Marketing Professional Services of Utah and a past president-elect of the International Association of Business Communicators in Rochester. Florence is a 1984 graduate of SUNY Brockport where she earned a bachelor's degree in communication/ journalism. She began her career in marketing and public relations with The Sear-Brown Group in Rochester. Florence is the daughter of James and Sara Cook of Brockport and a 1979 graduate of Brockport High School. She replaces Karla Linn Merrifield who retired in September following 12 years as director of marketing communications.
