Howard, Weinert lead Bees
Stephanie Howard and Sara Weinert won two solo events each and were on two relay team wins to lead the Byron-Bergen Bees to a 99-74 win over Oakfield-Alabama January 14 in girl's swimming. The boy's team lost their match 91-70.
Howard won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:29.25 and the 500-meter freestyle in 6:47.04. Weinert won the 50-meter freestyle in :26.64, just two-tenths of a second shy of her own team record, and won the 100-meter breastroke in 1:20.97. Both were involved in first place relay teams in the 200-meter freestyle relay with Stephanie Platt and Alicia Sharp and the 400-meter freestyle with Platt and Kristine Lovett.
Jessie Sharp won the diving competition as the only competitor with 141.95 and Lovett also finished first in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:14.97.
Steve Quattrini won two events in the boy's meet - the 200-meter individual medley in 2:22.93 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:04.12. The team of Quattrini, Jason Radley, Jim Eick and Paul Chimielowiec finished first in the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:49.79.
