Bright Raven Gymnasts bring home team banners
Bright Raven gymnasts traveled to Utica to compete in the Leatherstocking Invitational, January 10-11, winning three team banners and many individual awards. The Level 5 team took first place with a team total of 179.80. In the 10-11 age division, Amanda Arcieri of Chili earned first place in floor exercise competition (9.725) and third place all around (35.425). In the 12 and over age division, Emily Gutknecht of Rochester won first place in floor exercise (9.85) and second place on balance beam (9.15). Erin Kolb of Chili took third place on balance beam (9.075) and second on the uneven parallel bars (9.35). Danielle Peruzzini of Brockport placed second in vaulting (9.10). Allison Grove of Chili was third in vaulting (8.90). Kristina Wolf of Hilton finished third on balance beam (9.05), third on floor (9.475) and third all around (35.60). Other Level 5 team members contributing to the team's win included Kyle Holly and Maura Wojak of Chili, Olivia Ferrauilo of Greece, Amanda Clapper of Spencerport, and Bethany Ayers of Churchville.
Bright Raven's Level 6 team finished in second place with a score of 178.10 just behind Kennett Gymnastics of Goshen, New York with a 178.65. In the 12 and over age group, Amber Kober of Ogden captured first place all around (37.20), first place on balance beam (9.125), first on floor (9.80), and second on vault (9.425). Sabrina Hill of Hamlin took second place all around (36.00) and was first on vault (9.575) and second on bars (9.025). Breanna Fischer of Gates took second place in floor exercise (9.60). In the age 7-9 division, Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit placed second on floor (9.10) and third all around (34.125). Bright Raven Level 6 team members contributing to the team effort also included Kara Golis and Nicole Morone of Churchville, and Alyssa Kober of Ogden.
The Level 8 Team brought home the third place banner scoring 174.15. In the 15 and over age division, Shania Dzielak of Rochester took first place in floor exercise (9.525), second place on balance beam (9.35) and third place all around (35.875). Ashley Roberts of Albion took second place on floor (9.475). In the 12-14 age group, Jenna Easton of Churchville took third place on beam (8.80). Christine Manthei of Chili was third on floor (9.425). Jackie VanDeWater of Churchville, Larissa Bolalek of Greece and Danielle Palumbo of North Chili also contributed to the Level 8 Team effort.
The Level 7 Team finished in fifth place with only four gymnasts competing. In the 12-13 age division. Julie Mingoea of Spencerport took first place in vaulting (9.45), third place on beam (9.325) and second all around (36.525). In the 8-11 age division, Megan Seuffert of Gates placed third on bars (9.35). In the 14 and over age division, Amanda Westcott of Brockport took first place all around (35.075) and also took first on floor exercise (9.275) and second on bars (8.70). Jaclyn Miller of West Henrietta was fifth all around (34.20).
Shauna Gentile of Scottsville competed in the Level 9 Senior Division winning first place in vaulting (9.20) and second place on floor (9.125).
Randi Bisbano of Greece competed in the Level 10 senior division capturing first place all around (37.20), first on balance beam (9.45), first on bars (9.35), second on vault (9.35) and second on floor exercise (9.05).
