Brockport gymnasts again break school scoring record
Junior Carrie Santore (Webster/Webster) scored a season high 37.250 in the all-around to lead the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles in a 181.0250-176.8500 win over visiting Springfield College February 9. With the 181.0250 points, Brockport breaks the school's scoring record for the third time this season.
Santore had season best scores on the floor exercise (9.600), beam (9.325), and on bars (9.100). Brockport sophomore Jordan Christiano (Hilton/Hilton) was second in the all-around with a 35.900 points while Springfield's Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, MA/Giguere) was third with 35.625.
Christiano scored a 9.525 on the floor, a 9.025 on vault, and a 9.000 on the beam. Romano-Joseph led her team on the floor with a 9.425, and on vault with a 9.300. Brockport junior Jessica Bowman (Oswego/Oswego) led the Golden Eagles on vault with a 9.275 and also scored a 9.200 on the floor exercise.
The Golden Eagles are home again Saturday, February 15, as they host MIT at noon.
