Writing Night planned for
Spencerport Elementary School
Bernabi Elementary School is planning its Eighth Annual Writing Night for Wednesday, March 19, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., in the cafeteria. Writing Night is a family event featuring a reading and visual presentation of the story Roxaboxen by Alice McLerran. This picture book, with a community focus, will provide a writing springboard for families to create responses such as recipes, future representations of community and how to make your community a better place.
Family groupings are asked to bring writing materials such as pencils, pens, crayons and markers. Writing tablets will be provided. The finished writing will be displayed in the main hall near the Roxaboxen mural.
Fourth, second and first graders made posters advertising the event. Fifth graders will decorate the cafeteria with murals that the fourth and sixth graders made in Julie Bachman's Art class. Sixth graders will be on hand to interview the participants.
The event grows each year and promises to be a night of writing fun for all. Registration is currently underway. Call Bernabi School for information.
