•Moran, William J., Monday, March 17, 2003 at age 86. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Moran. He is survived by his brothers, James Moran of Ft. Myers, Florida and Thomas G. (Grace) Moran of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; five sisters, Mae Ridout of Washington, Martha (Claude) Shelverton of Macon, Georgia, Frances (William) DeSmith of Ft. Myers, Florida, Irene (Herbert) McClellan of Kent and Helen (James) Macauly of Rochester; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department and was a member of American Legion Post #1182.

Entombment at White Haven Memorial Park.


•Root, Grace W. (Wallington), Monday, March 17, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard D. Root Sr. She is survived by her son, Howard D. (Sheila) Root Jr.; her daughters, Lynda McCaffery, Constance (Stanley) Messer and Susan Root; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was an officer of Fairport Chapter #444 O.E.S.

A Memorial Service was held March 22 at the First Congregational UCC (The White Church) Spencerport. Interment Fairfield Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.


•Wiest, Helen M., March 17, 2003, age 93. Pre-deceased by her husband, Clarence, son, Thomas Wiest. Survived by brother, Joseph (Maddie) Schlitzer; daughter-in-law, Ruth Wiest; grandchildren, Thomas Wiest Jr., Yvonne (Gary) Ranney, Eric (Jennifer) Wiest, Mark (Michelle) Wiest, Keith (Tracy) Wiest, Chris (Kelly) Wiest; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Mass was held March 20 at St. Theodore's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Con-tributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.


BERGEN

•Thompson, Lillian (Brundage), died March 5, 2003 in Arizona, former resident of Bergen. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Munger of Arizona; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Cork of East Rochester, Carrie Wood of Bergen and Helen (Robert) Blair of Wyoming, New York; sister-in-law, Margaret Brundage of Albion; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held in Peoria, Arizona.


BROCKPORT

•Bennett, Wilford C., Age 91, died March 9, 2003 at his home in Brockport. He is formerly of Watertown, NY. Mr. Bennett married Katherine G. Gold on September 16, 1945. Mrs. Bennett passed away on May 6, 2000. Surviving is one niece, and one nephew and one great niece. One brother, Abner P. Bennett, died before him.

A Graveside Service was held March 23 at Degel Israel Cemetery, Watertown. Donations can be given in his memory to Degel Israel Synagogue, Watertown, NY.


•Perkins, Gordon H., On March 18, 2003. He is predeceased by his wives, Frances and Harriet. Survived by his sons, William, Gordon of San Diego, California, James, Jack (Kathy) and Robert; daughter, Katherine Perkins of San Diego, California; sister Claudia Douglas of Zephyrhills, Florida; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Interment was private.


•Smith, Elmer, March 19, 2003 at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his daughter, Janet Smith-Bennetti. He is survived by his beloved wife June, of 59 years; his sons, Kenneth Sr. (Donna) and Philip (Linda); grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Jeffrey (Nichole) Smith, David (Dee) Bennetti, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Branden, Mary Kate, Alena and Zachary.

Funeral Services were held March 22 at Fowler Funeral Home, Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to Brockport United Methodist Church or The Humane Society at Lollypop Farm.


•Spurgeon, Amy E., formerly of Brockport, died after a courageous battle with cancer on March 16, 2003 at age 57. She is survived by her parents, Richard and Alice Martin; her husband of 32 years, George Spurgeon; daughters, Sarah (Rick) Luna, Beth Spurgeon and Emily Spurgeon; granddaughters, Victoria Spurgeon and Elizabeth Luna; godsons, Joe Rogers and Joshua Kramer; and many friends. She was predeceased in death by her brother, Roger Paul Martin and her infant sister.

Funeral Services were held March 20 in Pearland, Texas. Memorial donations can be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, Texas 77297 for Ovarian Cancer Research.


CLARENDON

•Buck, Rosie, age 88, on March 12, 2003 at the Orleans County Nursing Home, following a long illness. She is survived by her husband Gilbert, whom she married in 1971; son, Howard (Loretta) Bartlett of Marion; step-son William (Sandra) Buck of Clarendon; grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Bartlett of Waterport, Julie (Jerry) Winnett of Texas, Dale (Sandra) Bartlett of Newark, Lori (Kevin) DeRidder of Fairport, William (Dori) Buck of Clarendon, Jennifer (John) Cannizzaro of Albion; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her first husband, Otis Bartlett, and a sister predeceased her. She was a retiree of Duffy-Motts Company.

Funeral Services were held March 15 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment in Hillside Cemetery in the spring. Memorials can be made to the Disciplines Methodist Church or to the Clarendon Ambulance.

•Baker, Keith A., March 16, 2003 age 45. Survived by his parents, Mike (Barbara) Gorton; brothers, Dan (Sue) Baker, Darrin (Brenda) Baker; sisters, Sandy (John Connors) Rose, Terry Baker, Debbie (Gary) Christiano; grandmother, Marion E. Nichols; several nieces and nephews.

•Camarata, Kim M., Sunday, March 16, 2003 at age 44. She is survived by her partner, Sharon Weins; father and mother, Samuel and Janet Camarata; brothers, Anthony (Suzanne) Camarata, Mark (Kim) Camarata; sister, Cheryl (Mike) Thornberg; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; dear friend Debbie Griffith; her beloved cockapoos, Bailey and Jasmine. Kim was a customer service representative for Eastman Kodak Company.

•Slowe, Grace E., March 17, 2003, age 89. Predeceased by her husband, Harold, sisters, Helen Fleck, Norma Everett. Survived by children, Charlotte Staples, Larry (Fay) Slowe, Gerald (Nellie) Slowe, Terry Slowe; sister, Margaret Nellis; several grandchildren, great-grand-children; nieces and nephews.

•Winchester, Evelyn M., March 19, 2003 age 83. Predeceased by her husband, Melvin R. Winchester; son, Roy Everett Winchester, son-in-law, Lawrence Ellis. Survived by daughter, Norma Jean Ellis; brother, Robert (Mary) Hanks; sisters, Elsie Sharp, Mary (Melvin) Bucholz, Claire (Bob) Swanger; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

•Passarell, E. Sidney, on March 17, 2003 at age 70. •Wiederhold, Helen M., of Holley and Dix Hills, New York, on February 27, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence. Cherished mother of Nancy and Robert.

•Andrews, Caroline S., formerly of Spencerport, died unexpectedly, March 13, 2003. Wife of James A. Dwaileebe; mother of Pauljames Andrews-Dwaileebe and Alec Wilber Andrews-Dwaileebe both of Melrose, Massachusetts; daughter of Sara (Wilber) Andrews of Spencerport and the late Paul S. Andrews; sister of Sara Andrews and Grace Andrews and her husband Joseph Sardine, all of Melrose; aunt of Colby C. Andrews.

•Bertsch, Albert H. Jr., Sunday, March 16, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Gardner) Bertsch; his son, Bradley Bertsch and fiance Karen Hylbert; his daughter, Karen (Richard) Cullen; his brother, James (Sandra) Bertsch; his sister, Norma VanDeWater; several nieces and nephews. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.
