members train Members of the Chili Fire Department brave the near zero winter temperatures for an opportunity to train on a house in Chili Center. Firefighters practiced on the roof, cutting vent holes that would be necessary to let heat and smoke out of a house if there were to be a fire. This was a rare opportunity to get a structure for actual hands on practice. The house was offered for training by Joe Balsamo, owner of Pontillo's Pizza in Chili. The structure will soon be demolished to make way for the new Pontillo's Restaurant in Chili Center. |
