Springdale sheep are removing their coats
Wool shearing, combing, spinning, dyeing and weaving demonstrations will be the main attractions at the Annual Sheep Shearing Festival on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Springdale Farm, of Northampton Park at 696 Colby Street in Ogden. The cost is only $5 per carload.
Highlights will include Springdale's signature petting zoo with miniature horses, face painting, strolling storybook storytellers and children's games. In addition to the festival activities, farm visitors can meet newborn lambs and other springtime barnyard babies such as bunnies and chicks. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at the concession stand.
Springdale Farm is owned by Monroe County and operated by Heritage Christian Home, a non-profit agency serving 1,000 adults and children with developmental disabilities.
