BOCES 2 students place in competition

Career and Technical Education Center students from BOCES 2 earned top honors at the New York State Skills USA/VICA (Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America) competition on March 6. Seventy-seven students from the Career and Technical Education Center at WE-MO-CO were among the 1,092 participants from trade schools throughout New York state to compete in their fields of study.

Students work all year refining their skills in areas such as cosmetology, carpentry, TV/Radio broadcasting, culinary arts and welding, as well as in leadership competitions like the quiz bowl (a Jeopardy-like game). Skills USA/VICA is a national organization serving a quarter-million high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations.
