The Northwest Family YMCA Gymnastics Team competed at the Western New York Cluster Championship on Sunday, March 30, in Canandaigua. Lindsay Cooper, a former Level 9 USGA gymnast, coaches the team, and a YMCA competitor herself, had their best finish this season.

The level 8 Optional Team finished in third place. Jenny Gremke placed second on bars, placed fifth on beam and floor and fifth place all around. Lauren Mirt placed fourth on beam and fifth on vault. Becky Wedow placed third on vault, beam and floor and took home fourth place all around.

Level 5 Compulsory Team took home a second place trophy, showing tremendous improvement. Alexis Cook placed second on bars, 4th on beam. Briana Buschle placed sixth on vault, third on beam and 6th all around. Kaci Hucknall placed fifth on floor, sixth on beam and bars, and sixth all around. Danielle Warren placed first on beam (8.80), fourth on bars (9.00) and floor and finished third all around (34.80).

The girls have qualified for state competition to be held in Oneonta, April 12.
