Logel to seek primary for Chili town supervisor
County Legislator Tracy Logel (R/C-Chili) will force a primary election for Chili Town Supervisor against current Supervisor Steve Hendershott.
In a recent letter to the Chili Republican Committee members, Logel notified area Republicans that she will bypass the committee designation process and let the voters decide who will run for town supervisor on the Republican line.
Logel noted that earlier this past year the number of committee members slipped to 52 out of a possible 124 seats. "Unfortunately, over the past several years we have seen the number of committee members fall substantially," Logel said. "With less than half of the available seats on the committee filled, I do not believe the committee is able to speak for the 7,000 plus registered Republicans on an issue as important as the future of our town."
Logel, a 37-year resident of the town, said she has been considering a run for town supervisor since the election two years ago when Republicans in the community began contacting her and requesting she run for supervisor. Logel has 12 years of experience representing the Town of Chili as a member of the town board and the Monroe County Legislature (3rd district).
