C-C Odyssey of the Mind team headed for competition

A Churchville-Chili Intermediate Odyssey of the Mind team will compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Competition to be held in Ames, Iowa in May on the campus of Iowa State University. The students are sixth-graders Steven Brown, Tom Loughlin, Ellen Sadri, Megan Specksgoor, Sean Tanner, Tres Heffron and Kelby Weilnau.

Odyssey of the Mind is a world wide creative problem solving competition. Students select a problem to solve and then compete in local, regional and world competitions. Parents volunteer as Odyssey of the Mind coaches. The CCIS team selected: A Scene from Above, sponsored by NASA as their problem to solve. The problem is to design, build and run three small vehicles to transport items from an Orbit Area to an Assembly Station. The items are added to a three-dimensional representation of a scene of the Earth as viewed from space. The team must also present a humorous performance about the scene and its changes.
