WE-MO-CO student wins art award

Greg Sandera, a junior at WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Education Center in Spencerport received second place in the 2003 International Aviation Art Contest sponsored by the New York State Department of Transportation. He received a framed copy of his artwork and a framed certificate.

Sandera's entry was one of over 1,000 entries from students in New York state. His artwork was a hand drawn rendering of an eagle, flying next to a plane with a flag in the background. He used a stippling technique in black and white ink with colored pencil.

Sandera is a student in Peter Botsis' commercial art/design class at WE-MO-CO. His artwork has been submitted to the national competition in Washington, D.C.
