Upshaw sings Broadway with RPO
Soprano Dawn Upshaw sings songs by Gershwin, Rogers and Hart, Sondheim and Bernstein in a concert led by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra on May 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. in the Eastman Theatre. Tickets, $20-$50, are available at the RPO Box Office, 108 East Avenue (454-2100), and at all Wegmans Video Departments.
"Dawn Upshaw's versatile talent will be beautifully showcased on this concert," said Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik. "She'll bring fun, flair, entertainment and experience to these much loved pieces." The program will include favorite Broadway songs such as "Somewhere" from West Side Story, "Autumn in New York," "Not a Care In The World" by Duke and "Someone To Watch Over Me" by Gershwin.
