Chili Republicans endorse 2003 candidates
The Chili Republican Committee's slate of candidates for the 2003 local elections are: supervisor - Steve Hendershott, councilman - Mike Slattery, town clerk - Dick Brongo and town justice - Pat Pietropaoli. Town board candidate Ginny Ignatowski is also on the slate.
"There is so much to be proud of as a Republican these days," stated Chair Mary Sperr. "Our President, George W. Bush," continued Sperr, "has made us as proud as Commander in Chief as he did in leading the effort to dramatically cut taxes. Governor George Pataki is taking a hard line with Assembly Democrats in proposing a budget with no growth in spending, and locally we have an outstanding ticket up for election this fall."
"We have endorsed a slate of terrific Republican candidates," said Sperr. "They are proud of their records, they were proud to present them, and we were proud to endorse them." Sperr said Town Supervisor Steve Hendershott has an outstanding record of cutting taxes, expanding services to seniors and children, and bringing in nearly $2.5 million through grant programs. "Steve Hendershott was brave enough to put his record before the Chili Republican Committee and ask for our endorsement," Sperr said. "He received it, unanimously. County Legislator Tracy Logel has announced she intends to launch a primary run for the Republican endorsement for Chili supervisor.
