Dates set for budget hearing/info night
The Holley Central School District will present its proposed budget for the 2003-04 school year at a budget hearing on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Holley Junior/Senior High School auditorium. This date was changed due to state lawmakers' decision to postpone the school budget vote. The hearing will include a presentation of the proposed school budget for the 2003-04 school year and residents will have an opportunity to ask questions. Updated information from the state will be included, if it is available.
The Holley Board Candidate Information Night will be held on the originally scheduled date of Wednesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. in the Holley Elementary School cafetorium. Residents will have the opportunity to meet and hear from the candidates for the board of education. They are (in the order their names will appear on the ballot): Salvatore DeLuca, Jr., Elizabeth Skehan, Betty Drennan, Jeanne Spada, Dennis Piedimonte, Nicholas Penna, Amy O'Mara, Reverend Robert Oyer, Reverend Randy Anson, Shannon Sauro-Quill and Albert Buell. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to three-year terms of office commencing July 1, to fill the expired terms of Betty Drennen, John Penna and Elizabeth Skehan.
The annual school budget vote and school board election will be held Tuesday, June 3 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the main entrance foyer of the Holley Junior/Senior High School. To vote, one must be a resident of the district for at least thirty days before the vote, at least eighteen years of age, and a citizen of the United States.
