CES students are on the Wright Way
A celebration at Churchville Elementary School on Friday, May 16, commemorated the naming of the driveway located in front of the school. The driveway was named "Wright Way" in honor of George Wright, a former principal who served at CES for over 30 years.
Wright along with his wife, Trish, attended the celebration and officially renamed the driveway by cutting a red ribbon. As Wright spoke to the students, staff and parents, he smiled and said, "I'm so proud to be honored by all these people here today."
As part of the commemoration, CES students sang a special tribute honoring Wright and ended the celebration with the CES school cheer. Marge Murphy, CES principal, spoke about Wright's time as principal at CES. She reflected upon the time she and Wright worked together, "It is befitting George that we honor him and name this school road in his honor." Murphy added, "When I give directions to our school, I will tell people to turn on to the Wright Way to get to CES. And now, we can tell people that all our CES students are on the Wright Way."
