Hilton Board of Education
recognizes "Friends of Education"
At its May 13 meeting, the Hilton Central School District Board of Education recognized individuals and organizations whose volunteer efforts have greatly enhanced students' educational lives. Board of Education President David Fisher and Board Members Dale Beehler, Chris Cosgrove, Gary Comardo, Aggie Seneway, Ted Welch and Dan Wellington joined Superintendent of Schools John Cooper in congratulating: Attorney Mark Young of the Monroe County Public Defenders Office who worked with students to prepare for Mock Trial Competitions; Christie Dobson, parent and photographer/videographer who has extensively documented students' music, art and athletics; parent Sherry Finzer who volunteers in the music department; Gerald "Mort" and Jeanne Kellman, Wrestling Club Boosters for over 25 years; Don and Holly Marron, parents whose Mobil business has helped earn several schools Mobil/Exxon Foundation Educational grants; the North Greece Fire Department and Fire District and the Greece Rotary Club for efforts in fire prevention and $1,500 donation to support a Science Camp at Northwood Elementary School respectively; Northwood VEPTO parent volunteer Mary Pace; Dr. Dan Barletta, Greece Rotarian, who helped train staff at Northwood Elementary School in CPR and AED; Quest Elementary School parent volunteers Steven and Mary Barrett; Village Elementary School VEPTO volunteer Patricia Pirnie; and Hilton-Parma Recreation for "its impact on the educational environment by enhancing the quality of life in the community."
The Friends of Education join more than 100 "Friends" who have received the award since its inception in 1990.
