The ducks are eager for Lakeside's Duck Derby to be held on August 10. Lakeside Memorial Hospital had 13 new arrivals over Memorial Day weekend. A mother duck decided to make the courtyard in the center of Lakeside home to her 13 baby ducklings. They enjoy swimming in the water dishes supplied by staff and following their mother around the courtyard. Many visitors to the courtyard from the Lakeside Child Care Center and other departments in the hospital get a chance to see wildlife up close. With the assistance of Lakeside staff, the ducks will be moved to the Corbett Park where they will have the space they need to grow, according to hospital representatives. Submitted photo.
