Community Free Library presents Elizabeth Tone awards
Each year, the Community Free Library in Holley presents the Elizabeth Tone award to a junior in the Holley and Kendall schools. The award was established in 1976 by the Friends of the Library in memory of Elizabeth Tone. She was an English teacher at Kendall High School and one of the founding members of the Friends of the Library.
The two awards of twenty-five dollars each are given as recognition of the student's improvement in English during their freshman, sophomore and junior years. The student is selected by the faculty of the English department of each school. This year's recipients are Theresa Matteson (Kendall) and Matthew Boyce (Holley) who received their awards during their school's annual awards ceremonies.
